It is already great-looking and it isn't even done; our own teens are painting it - showing their desire to help improve Brockton; it illustrates a fascinating part of Brockton history that not everyone knows; and it brings some excitement to downtown!
Way to go, Mural team -- Keep up the great work, and thanks for the blog!
Today, I drove to the mural and took closeup pictures. Just an amazing job by the designer and the students. The team should be proud of their accomplishment. My wife looked and the mural and it brought back memories of when she was young. She is very familiar with the small hammer in the center of the picture. She would cement the edges of pieces of shoe leather which were needed to be assembled to make the shoe. When dry, she would press the leather edges with the hammer and awl. She would then wrap all the completed pieces and send to the shoe factory for assembly. She thanks everyone for this wonderful memory
There are so many reasons to love this mural!
